What will I see Shark Cage Diving Durban?

You can look forward to encountering a high volume of sharks when shark cage diving in Durban. The type of shark most commonly seen is blacktip sharks of various sizes.

Where do we meet?

The meeting point is at our dive centre in Umkomaas, a small coastal town. Umkomaas lie a mere 35 minutes drive from Durban Central.

The best thing is that you do not need any sort of diving experience, snorkelling or even swimming experience. All you have to do is float inside the safety of a stainless steel cage licensed by the South African Maritime Safety Authority (SAMSA). You will be wearing a 5ml wetsuit with a mask and fins on. There’s nothing to it, right? But also be prepared for the rush of adrenalin!

How will the boat launch be?

The shark cage diving Durban tours are all beach launch tours with semi-rigid rubber ducks. The rubber ducks are regularly surveyed and meet all the necessary safety standards.

Will my shark cage diving in Durban gear be included?

Yes, your shark cage dive comes with full gear. Gear includes a 5ml wetsuit, snorkel, mask and fins. Scuba is not necessary on this dive so the entire family can join from age 10 upwards.
