I would highly recommend this tour to anyone looking to do shark cage diving in Gansbaai. We arranged to be picked up and dropped off at our accommodation all the way in Durbanville. Upon arrival in Gansbaai, we had breakfast, got geared up with wetsuits, received a safety briefing, and were divided into two groups of six people each. After a quick 10-minute boat ride, we reached the shark cage diving location. Each group was given ample time in the cage, allowing us to see the sharks up close—some even bumped into the cage! We also had plenty of time to take photos and videos underwater. The staff never rushed us. In fact, during the briefing, they explained that their goal is to ensure everyone has a thorough experience, even if it means one group takes a bit longer than the other. Bottled water and snacks were available onboard throughout the trip. The staff also recorded a video, which was available for purchase after the tour—great for those without underwater cameras. We didn’t see any Great White Sharks, as we were informed that their numbers have decreased in recent years due to aggressive behavior from Orcas. However, we did see many Bronze Whaler Sharks, a stingray, and a very playful seal. On the boat ride back, we even spotted dolphins and whales with their calves. The staff was incredibly informative and knowledgeable, answering all our questions. After approximately two hours at sea, we returned to the harbor, where we were provided with towels, soap, and shampoo to take hot showers. Once freshened up, we helped ourselves to vegetable soup, freshly baked bread, and a selection of hot beverages and juice. To top off an already wonderful experience, it was also my friend’s birthday. The staff arranged for all the participants to sing for him and gifted him a bottle of champagne, which was a really kind gesture. We went on the tour today with realistic expectations, knowing that there’s never a guarantee of seeing great white sharks — but our experience exceeded all expectations! We were lucky enough to see two great whites, including one about 4 meters long. The crew was incredibly friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable. On the way, we even spotted a whale and some dolphins. Our experience was absolutely amazing! It was my second cage dive in Kleinbaai and i will do it again and again. Booking was easy and efficient and professional. We saw amazing sharks like the rare 7 gill shark, bronze whaler shark, a huge stingray and a playfull seal.Our Guide was friendly, professional and knowledgeable. This hot shower and hot chocolate on board was an extra surprise. Warm soup afterwards was tops as it was quite cold. Fantastic experience and it made me love sharks and the ocean even more. Was a truly 5 star experience - having done live uncaged diving in Durban I wasn’t sure if this would be worth it. However, it turned out to be an exciting afternoon as I got into the safe cage with my son. We got to experience sharks up close (arms length literally) and not one but three at a time along with a huge stingray and seal to add to the fray. The close encounter was a true shark safari experience and with full safety. Highly recommended without a doubt.
